Patrick from Xbox360digest interview

We were able to get Patrick from to answer a few questions about his site and his gaming in general. see what he has to say!

LD: Not everyone is aware of Xbox 360 Digest’s (X3D) origins, can you give us a brief history and some insight to the startup of the site?

Patrick: Initially, Xbox 360 Digest was a personal interest of mine and a few other staff members from Mobility Digest. I personally built the site from the ground up, recruited roughly a dozen writers, and began to create content. 2 years later, the site sees thousands of visitors per day and has been featured for unique content on several major gaming outlets, including Joystiq, Kotaku, CVG and more. Additionally, the reaches of 360 Digest have allowed me to attend several trade shows, including E3 and CES in the past year.

LD: Can you tell us why you are heavily vested in the Xbox 360 platform as opposed to the PS3?

Patrick: Because it hasn’t been hacked, leaking all of its users information. Just kidding. Well, sort of. Honestly, I think it was due to the first party titles back during Xbox 1’s days. Couple that with all of my friends having an Xbox for Xbox Live, and it just fit. It’s also integrated well with Windows (Media Center) and Windows Phone, and Kinect is pretty mind-blowing.

LD: What games and gaming franchise do you enjoy, both online and off? What is your favorite genre and why?

Patrick: While I’ll admit that I haven’t had much time to play some of the newer titles, I am a fan of a wide variety of titles. Some of my personal favorites include the Halo and Call of Duty series, as well as gems such as Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, or several of the recent sports games.

LD: I know you have enjoyed some success with the first few playdates, do you plan on doing any more events in the future?

Patrick: We have done official Xbox playdates in the past. Unfortunately, they’re very hard to coordinate (as well as find a mutual/relevant game), but we do plan on having more in the future. Stay tuned to for details!

enjoy some footage of XD3’s last playdate. it was loads of fun for sure!

Thank you Patrick for taking the time to answer our questions, we hope to see you soon on another playdate… hint hint
